Introduction

Providing Transit, Backhaul, Interconnection and end-to-end connectivity between Malaysia and other countries throughout the globe, International Bandwidth Services offers transmission speed options between 64kbps up to 2.5Gbps using a combination of satellite, submarine and terrestrial networks. International Bandwidth Services also offers the option for restoration and non-restoration of bearers.

TM offers this service in co-operation with a foreign partner or through TMRO in United Kingdom, United States, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Service Offered

International Bandwidth
International Bandwidth provisions both half and full circuits that originates in Malaysia and terminates in most countries worldwide or vice versa. A typical configuration of Wholesale Bandwidth is shown in figure 1 below :

Transit
Transit Service provides end-to-end connectivity that originates in one foreign country and terminates in another foreign country transiting via Malaysia.

Backhaul
Backhaul Service provides dedicated capacity between Cable Landing Stations in Malaysia where the customer has their own, or IRU capacity, in international submarine cable facilities. The speed offered ranges from 64kbps up to 155Mbps.

Interconnect
Interconnect Service provides interconnection of two submarine cable systems owned by the customer or TM self at TM’s Cable Landing Station. The speed offered ranges from 64kbps up to 155Mbps.

IRU
IRU is the sale of TM capacity on a consortium owned submarine cable system for a minimum period of 15 years or the lifetime of the cable system. An IRU is subject to the rules and regulations that are imposed by the cable consortium.

Seamless Connectivity : Seamless connectivity can be offered to and from major cable systems i.e. APCN2, CUSCN, JUSCN, SEA-ME-WE3, SAFE/ WASC/SAT-3.
